On January 27th, we’re partnering with Old Commonwealth Distillery to produce a 3-course dinner with the perfect bourbon pairings!!

And yes, we will be featuring their 10 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon, which launched to much fanfare in the fall of 2024.

History lesson: Old Commonwealth is an iconic brand created in the 1970s by Julian Van Winkle II, the son of “Pappy” Van Winkle, and in those days, it utilized liquid from the legendary Stitzel-Weller Distillery.

Fast-forward to 1997-2002, Julian Van Winkle III was selling a version of Old Commonwealth that was proofed to 107 and utilized a wheated mash bill just like his father did decades before.

This contemporary recreation has been five years in the making, and though it uses a mash bill sans any wheat, its founders felt that this whiskey was exceptional enough to carry the banner and continue the legacy.

We’re also featuring their Kentucky Nectar, which is a double barreled, cask-strength, wheated Kentucky straight bourbon that’s been finished in honey casks.

Here’s the full menu:

1st Course

Whipped Ricotta Crostini (ricotta spread with candied bacon, arugula, pomegranate arils, orange segments, and pomegranate-honey on toasted baguette), paired with a Kentucky Nectar Old Fashioned

2nd Course

Baked Salmon & Gnocchi (salmon glazed with spiced orange blossom honey, served alongside sweet potato gnocchi in sage-pine nut butter and haricot vert with lemon), paired with a neat pour of Kentucky Nectar

3rd Course

Winter Honey Cake (served with chai whipped cream and wine-poached cherries), paired with a neat pour of Old Commonwealth
